California wildflowers are blooming (and here’s where to see them):

Yes, the California wild flowers are blooming! To catch them before they’re gone, plan a day trip out to Saddleback Butte State Park as soon as you can. An hour and a half outside Los Angeles, the desert floor in the Antelope Valley is carpeted with yellow and purple wildflowers. If you go early, your $6 state park fee will nab you a parking spot with a picnic bench and shade.

Take a leisurely stroll through the nature walk loop or trek up Little Butte Trail (5 mi roundtrip) to the Saddleback Butte for an aerial view of the yellow dappled desert.

So grab your packs and head out now before they’re gone!
